The plantings were started in 1992 in the park of a new homestead, and took on botanical interest when a collection of <em>Quercus<\/em> was initiated. In 2016 the Arboretum joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgci.org\/argentina_en\/index\/\">Argentina Botanical Garden Network<\/a> (RAJB) and the following year was recognized as an accredited arboretum in the <a href=\"http:\/\/arbnet.org\/about-register\">Morton Register of Arboreta<\/a>, a database of the world\u2019s arboreta and gardens dedicated to woody plants. It has been awarded a Level I Accreditation by The <a href=\"http:\/\/arbnet.org\/\">ArbNet<\/a> Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Arboretum is to showcase and preserve the biodiversity of trees by means of documented collections that are shared with the public through guided tours and illustrated catalogues on its website. The collection\u2019s database is available on this site and on the <a href=\"http:\/\/bgci.org\/plant_search.php\">PlantSearch<\/a> page of the BGCI website (Botanic Gardens Conservation International).
